Rowley Avenue School:

This school has good support from the Pasifika community comprising the Pacific Coordinator of MoEd Southern Region, a Pasifika Steering Group, PEETO (Pacific Education Employment Training Org) Pacific Island Affairs and Ultra Lab. Rowley has the first Samoan Bi-lingual Unit in the South and a high proportion of Pasifika parents.
The training component of the 20 CIH parents was provided by an initiative called Family Literacy, which builds on MoEd's Home School Partnership. Parents receive free Unit Standards based computer training while their children attend Subject Specific Study Support onsite at the same time at Hillmorton High School , as seen here above. A further 5 computers are at the school for training purposes.

Aranui High & Linwood High:

Training for parents held here via Home School Partnership, Pasifika Family Literacy and Student Study Support classes.

Aranui Primary, Linwood North and Bromley Schools are all taking advantage of the training provided through MoE Pasifika Family Literacy Programme, for their CIH projects. St James ran their own training on Macs.

PEETO training coordinator Jeff Ah Kuoi and MoE Pasifika Coordinator Fuetanoa Kose Seinafo arrange the training to take place either at the schools or via the local colleges, concurrent with homework support for the children.
