Huntly CIH Project

Huntly Project:

February 2007 Update:
Huntly Primary graduation was attended by teachers BOT Chairman, CA Country Manager Stuart Preston and CIH National Coordinator Di Das. Trainer Karen Ichikawa graduated the 12 CIH parents and everyone shared the celebration. CA donated further funds for the library to support the literacy of Huntly children.

The families have been keeping in close contact with the school, as reported here fom the school administrator:

“Thank you for the pictures from our graduation.  The families are all doing great, I have received many emails from them.  They are also emailing me to let me know when their children are not attending school.”

CA funds for CIH places that were not filled by Huntly families have been redirected to Naenae College in Lower Hutt for a new CA/CIH project 2008.

October 2007:
Huntly Primary School was fortunate enough to gain corporate sponsorship from CA, which has set up a special relationship between them. We were delighted to have the services of Te Wananga O Aotearoa tutor and technician Karen to tautoko the parents through their training and after. Stuart Preston of CA is a great advocate for educational opportunity and added extra funding for the Huntly school library for each parent that graduated in August 2007.

November 2006:
Next year, children from about 18 Huntly families will have something many other kids take for granted - a home PC - thanks to a $25,000 donation from CA, one of the world's largest management software companies.

The announcement was made as the 2020 Communications Trust Celebrated 10 years of Community ICT development at a reception at Parliament's Grand Hall on the 20th of November.
