Otaki Project

Otaki Primary & St Peter Chanel Schools:

Originally CIH was invited to Otaki by the Community Connections Trust, who have been providing employment training and a computer loan service for 3 years. In consultation with them, we offered the programme to Otaki Primary School, who have since shared the opportunity with St Peter Chanel School, and invited the family of a past pupil from the Intermediate at Otaki College to take the last place. The training ran out of Otaki School, and the CC Trust provides the technical support. Graduation was attended by Otaki MP Darren Hughes and National's list MP Nathan Guy, as well as Kapiti Coast Council representative Andre Baker. All were impressed with the commitment of the parents and the school to the CIH project. Parents said the key was their great teacher, another crucial factor in CIH success.
